Santa is a special Hero in Lego Battles, as well as a normal unit in Lego Battles: Ninjago. While nothing is known about him before his time in combat, we can assume that he delivered gifts and joy to children before he began his life as a Hero in the battlefield.
Being a ranged unit, his statistics are slightly below average compared to that of the King or Governor Broadside.
Spells made by Santa are extremely useful in combat. Like the King, he can generate plant life to aid other units in defence or resource gathering. Unlike the King, he can also teleport from certain distances. This allows for enemies to get distracted by other units while Santa attacks the opponent's hero or buildings. Hence it's usefulness in the Free Play mode.
Santa, like the other miscellaneous units, have no story relevance. Santa is also the most expensive unit, being available for 50 Lego Studs. The player also has to play Lego Battles on Christmas in order to get the chance to purchase him. This can be exploited, however, by changing the day on your DS to 12/25, Christmas.
